Those who know me well know that I am pretty anal about what my children eat and the nutrition they receive every day. I have a lot of my friends and family ask me questions about what we eat as a family, how I get them to eat so well, etc. Upon the suggestion of a dear friend, I have decided to blog about it. This is a work in progress! I don't claim to be a nutritional expert, but I am a very busy working mother who cares a lot about what goes in my kids' bodies!
I hope you enjoy, and if you have suggestions, please let me know!

Catching up
I think I will try this again...
Life is as busy as always, but I choose for it to be that way, so I can't really complain. The kids really keep us busy with activities. I never thought I'd be the mom taxiing kids from here to there, but I am! What can I say - the kids love doing it and we love watching. When they seem tired of it, we certainly won't push it. Harper is in gymnastics once a week, Grayson has karate twice a week and basketball once a week. For now anyway. Spring will come and activities will change.
I stay busy with work, Junior Woman's Club stuff, PTO, Prizery board, youth group etc. If people know you get things done, they will ask you to do lots of stuff. I like giving back and improving the community, so it works out.
Grayson is doing great in kindergarten! Making fantastic grades and behaving well. He really succeeds at everything he puts his mind to and impresses me every single day. Harper is learning faster than I can keep up with. She really has a high attention span and an eye for detail. She concentrates on whatever she's doing so well! She has the kindest, most loving heart I've ever known.
Christmas is coming up. I always visioned having tons and tons of gifts under the tree and spoiling my kids rotten. Older and wiser, we don't do this. They get a few choice things that we think they will enjoy for a while. Kids do make Christmas fun though, and I can't wait to see their excitement on Christmas morning! And of course, we will do our best to keep the true meaning of Christmas in their hearts.
This certainly was random babbling. Maybe I'll do better next time.

My crime fighting duo!
The kids had a great time on Halloween! We went to the Halloween Carnival at the Prizery and Trunk of Treats at our church .They scored enough candy to last until next Halloween (you know I barely allow one piece a day!) and they LOVED wearing their costumes! Dennis and I feel very safe in our home with two superheros!

Anniversary trip and other stuff
Dennis and I celebrated 6 years of marriage on October 15. We celebrated last week by taking a mini-vacation to Charlottesville, VA. We went shopping, strolled the downtown area, went to the movies, and toured Monticello. It was GREAT!
Here are some pics from the gorgeous Monticello:
In other news, Grayson has gotten back into wanting to play guitar. For a while, he had lost interest, but now he's his daddy's child again. Dennis built this guitar himself!
Harper is very into playing doctor these days. She even insists on being called called Dr. Harper.

A great autumn weekend
Other than Saturday's trip to the ER because Grayson got what we think was a migraine after his soccer game (long story), we had a terrific weekend with gorgeous fall weather.
First off, Grayson scored 4 goals on Saturday - YAY! He is really improving at the game, and it is fun to watch.
We went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday after church and youth group, and the kids had lots of fun!
Grayson & Harper playing in corn.
Posing for me.
Harper was grossed out by pumpkin guts.
My funny girl!
Making "scary" faces...
I wonder where they get it....
